Cinco de Mayo 2023

The Tasting Club, in partnership with the Embassy of Mexico in the Philippines and Manila House is pleased to invite you to fiesta al fresco with us for Cinco de Mayo at the Avenue Deck of Manila House this Saturday May 6, 2023, from 6pm onwards.

There’s significant history behind the Cinco de Mayo holiday that many people may not know about. It’s a holiday that commemorates a battle fought in Mexico on the fifth of May in 1862 - a battle that became an unexpected victory for the Mexican army over the French forces - and has since evolved to celebrate Mexican heritage and culture.

Mexican troops defeated French forces in battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862

For this exciting Fiesta, all guests will be able to indulge themselves with delicious traditional Mexican food prepared by Manila House. This will include delicious Chicken Fajitas, Beef Tacos, Cheese Quesadillas, Elote, Nachos, Salsa, Guacamole, and Churros with Chocolate Dip.

As for the drinks, 100% pure agave Classic Margaritas and Tequila shots will be offered from Codigo Blanco and Jose Cuervo Traditional Blanco & Reposado. Free Tasting of super premium Tequilas & Mezcals will be hosted by Grand Cru and refreshing Mexican Corona beers will also be served.

The local band, Mariachi Emmanuel, will be performing live music from 6pm until 9pm serenading guests around the pleasant al fresco Avenue deck of Manila House. A live Dj will be mixing groovy sounds after the serenades to keep the festive mood.
